Start a Formal Meditation Practice

Description:
One of the struggles with being both a man and a brand is that I occupy two spaces simultaneously at all times. When those identities are in alignment, I am at my most productive and profitable. However, there are moments when my basic human frailties as Mike Merrill threaten to overtake the idealized incarnation of KmikeyM.
Historically, I’ve dealt with this disconnect via traditional means: compartmentalization and avoidance behavior. This is not a sustainable long term strategy for both the business or my soul.
A daily habit of many of my heroes — one that has afforded them outrageous levels of spiritual and financial ROI — is meditation. To name a few: Rupert Murdoch, Ray Dalio, and the person who I suspect to be a god who walks among men, Oprah Winfrey.
I’ve decided the clear course of action should be a guided meditation practice with a qualified teacher. I believe that a formal training of the mind will lead to the recognition that my vulnerabilities are, in fact, strengths.
Through this practice I expect to gain a more compassionate and fluid understanding of my two halves. My hope is to achieve the fearless recognition that there is as much value in Mike Merrill as there is in KmikeyM. Optimization through integration. Teamwork makes the dream work.
