Pescetarian Diet
Posted on July 25, 2010
Description:
On February 2nd the shareholders of KmikeyM voted 62% to 38% in favor of a vegetarian diet. I have now eaten a vegetarian diet for 213 days (excluding two occasions of eating meat* and the allowance of oysters). I have greatly enjoyed eating vegetarian and discovering new products, however I do miss the variety of foods I was able to eat and eating fish feels like a compromise between where I am now and where I was before.
This is a shareholder proposal to include fish in my diet.
Pescetarianism, also called pesco-vegetarianism, is the practice of a diet that includes seafood and excludes other animals. In addition to fish or shellfish, a pescetarian diet typically includes some or all of vegetables, fruit, nuts, grains, beans, eggs and dairy. (wikipedia)
*While I was eating a vegetarian diet I was served a stew with meat in it by a host and ate it. I ordered greens which were served with bacon, and it seemed socially awkward to return it as I had just become vegetarian. Oysters have been a part of my "vegetarian" diet (Consider the Oyster).
