Facebook Friends Policy

Posted on November 23, 2016

Description:

I logged into Facebook today and I had a friend request from Jason T Ingram. I don't know him, but a recent post of his was about the KmikeyM project and he said:

"I friended him, so shareholders, please vote that he excepts my friend request."

Great call Jason T Ingram, let's put it to a vote. But this vote is about more than just Jason T Ingram, it's about setting an "open friend policy" on Facebook. I already have a Public Person page which anyone can follow, but I understand the appeal of being Facebook friends.

So a yes vote is to accept any and all Facebook requests, and a no vote is to only accept connections from people I would call a "friend" (a person whom one knows and with whom one has a bond of mutual affection, typically exclusive of sexual or family relations).

Are all your current friends real friends?

I have had a pretty lax attitude, so the answer is surely no.

Should someone with no shares be allowed to comment here?

From my perspective, I worry your ability to filter out extra information will impact your output...and that'll impact on the value of my shares. Stay focused.

You already have an official page for potential new shareholders to connect with. I say keep your personal FB profile just that: personal.

It seems like your facebook policy might need to be a little more detailed.

I agree with @Craven, since you also have a fan page, keep your personal FB profile personal.
